When
we bought Dynamics AX from Index Computer Systems, we expected
to reap the key benefit of an enterprise wide solution - providing
all employees with accurate, up-to-the-minute information
on how our business is performing. We have been able to achieve
this successfully. In addition we were led to believe that
despite the modifications we required, we would be able to
upgrade to later versions of the Product as and when they
became available. This was particularly important to us, as
with previous products the cost of the upgrades made it prohibitive.
Normally we would postpone major upgrades for fear of system
down time and high costs. Then several years later, we would
be running two or three versions behind and most new features
wouldn’t be available to us. We have been pleasantly
surprised with just how easy it has been to upgrade. We were
part way through the implementation with many new modifications
installed when we agreed with Index to upgrade from Dynamics
AX v2.5 to v3.0. The whole exercise took less than two days
and there were no problems with any of the enhancements that
we had already tested.
